Robotics Information
About Me:
Hi, I’m Ms. Ramirez, and I serve as the Assistant for the robotics program at Montague Charter Academy. In my role, I work closely with the coaches and Ms. Madrid to organize events, manage logistics, and handle any inquiries related to robotics. I focus on ensuring that all the moving parts of the program come together smoothly, from coordinating competitions to making sure the necessary resources are in place. My goal is to help support the success of the program behind the scenes and contribute to the overall efficiency and organization of our robotics efforts.
Questions?
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. I will likely respond Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday, as those are the days that I work.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: When can my child join robotics/ how does my child join robotics?
A: VEX IQ, where children build robots and compete is for 4th and 5th graders only. There is an interview process that students have to complete to be considered for robotics. This happens at the beginning of the school year. There is also a club for third grade students who are interested in joining robotics. More information on joining will be sent home. Finally, Mrs. Stewart runs a kindergarten robotics program using VEX 123 to get students interested in robotics and learn programming.
Q: When are the League Tournaments?
A: League Tournament schedules for VEX IQ (4th and 5th grade teams), are posted on the VEX website: Robotics Schedule. The 2024-2025 season is over.
Q: Can parents attend the League Tournaments?
A: Anyone interested in coming to the league and watching the tournament is welcome and encouraged to.
Q: Where are the League Tournaments?
A: Our league is held at Montague. If we make any championship, or enroll in another league it will be held at a different location and the location will be posted.
Q: Can I still buy robotics shirts/ when can I buy robotics shirts?
A: We sell robotics shirts periodically. When there is a sale going on, flyers will be given to teachers to pass out. These flyers indicate whether the sale is in person, physical shirts, or by order form. Please turn in order forms by the due date, or your shirt or hoodie may not get here at the same time as everyone else’s. We are currently working on setting up a Zelle for payment, but for now cash is the only accepted method of payment.
Q: My child's shirt/ hoodie was the wrong size. Can I exchange it?
A: I will do my best to exchange their shirt with the sizes that we do have in stock, if your child's shirt is still new. Please fill out the linked request form and send the shirt back to school with your child on Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday. I am not on campus Monday or Wednesday so I will not be able to replace shirts those days.
